Dear Citizens of Selma, 

I’m honored to announce my candidacy for President of the Selma City Council, guided by a vision of unity and progress: “Uniting Our City. Building Our Future.”

Selma has always been home. As a lifelong resident, my passion for public service is rooted in a deep love for our community and a firm commitment to making life better for every person who calls Selma home.

As President and CEO of the Selma Housing Authority, I’ve led efforts to build a more inclusive, opportunity-driven organization that uplifts individuals and families across our city. My prior work as the Congressional Black Belt Outreach Manager for Alabama’s 7th Congressional District gave me the opportunity to connect Selma directly with key federal partners—including the U.S. Departments of Transportation, Agriculture, and Housing and Urban Development—to help address urgent local challenges.

If elected City Council President, I will focus on the following priorities:
• Economic Development: Growing our economy by attracting new businesses, supporting entrepreneurs, and expanding job opportunities.
• Community Engagement: Ensuring transparency, accountability, and inclusive leadership that truly represents every voice in Selma.
• Infrastructure: Upgrading roads, utilities, and public spaces to improve safety and strengthen our city’s foundation.
• Housing: Expanding access to affordable, high-quality housing and revitalizing neighborhoods with dignity and purpose.
• Education: Partnering with schools and institutions to promote academic success, workforce readiness, and lifelong learning.
• Public Safety: Investing in strategies that protect our neighborhoods, build trust, and foster safe, connected communities.

I believe Selma’s greatest strength lies in its people—and together, we can shape a future defined by progress, equity, and shared success.
